Fitch: BNY Mellon resilient

Fitch Ratings said the performance for Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) remained sound despite the effects of a difficult operating environment.

Given its business model and relative conservatism, the bank remains more financially resilient than many banks, Fitch said.

Performance remains within expectations and in line with the bank's issuer default ratings of AA- and F1+, the agency said.

These ratings remain among the highest of the U.S. banks rated by Fitch.

The bank continues to enjoy strong liquidity, the agency added, and has been viewed as a safe haven in times of financial uncertainty.
