S&P rates Korea Western Power notes AA

S&P said it assigned its AA long-term issuer credit rating to Korea Western Power Co. Ltd. (Kowepo). The outlook is stable.

At the same time, S&P assigned a AA long-term issue ratings to the company's existing US$2 billion global medium-term notes program and the three sets of senior unsecured notes drawn down from the program.

“The rating on Kowepo primarily reflects our view of the company as a core subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corp. (Kepco; AA/stable/A-1+),” S&P said in a news release.
