Moody's may boost Bank of Communications

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the D bank financial strength rating and Baa1/prime-2 long/short-term foreign- and local-currency deposit ratings of the Bank of Communications on review for possible upgrade.

The bank's recently announced rights issue, if successful, will strengthen its capital base, Moody's said.

The bank's franchise, risk management and corporate governance frameworks all have strengthened since its initial public offering in 2007, the agency said.
