Fitch rates Bank of China notes A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an expected A rating to Bank of China Ltd.'s proposed long-term senior unsecured notes to be issued under its medium-term note program.

The bank plans to issue various notes denominated in Hong Kong dollars and U.S. dollars from its Hong Kong and London branches, with fixed- and floating-rates, Fitch said.

The notes will be issued under the bank's $40 billion medium-term notes program and will be traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including funding inclusive finance and green projects, the agency said.

The branches in Hong Kong and London are part of the same legal entity as Bank of China, Fitch said.
