Fitch gives Bank of China program A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a long-term rating of A(EXP) to Bank of China Ltd.'s €1.2 billion bons a moyen terme negociables program.

Senior notes under the BMTN program will represent direct, unconditional, unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the bank, while notes junior to senior obligations will be rated on a case-by-case basis in accordance with published criteria and after taking into consideration individual terms and conditions of those notes.

However, Fitch reserves the right not to rate certain instruments issued under the program, such as market-linked instruments.

Notes under the program will be issued by the bank's Paris branch. The notes may be issued in any currency with a tenor of at least one year. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
