Moody's: Bank of China (Hong Kong) debts Aa3, A1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a provisional Aa3 rating on the long-term senior unsecured debts and provisional A1 on the dated subordinate debts under Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd.'s medium-term note program.

The outlook is stable.

These ratings reflect the bank's well-established franchise and solid financials, the structure of the notes and the possible systemic support from the Hong Kong government, Moody's said.

The prospective senior unsecured debt rating is in line with the bank's existing Aa3 long-term deposit rating, while the dated subordinated debt rating is one notch below that of senior obligations to reflect its subordinated status, the agency said.
