Moody's might up Bank of America Mexico, Merrill Lynch Mexico

Moody's de Mexico said it placed Bank of America Mexico, SA, Institucion de Banca Multiple's (Bamsa) supported ratings on review for upgrade. These include Bamsa's long- and short-term global local currency and foreign currency deposit ratings of Baa3 and Prime-3, long-term Mexican national scale deposit rating of Aa2.mx and long-term Mexican national scale issuer rating of Aa2.mx.

At the same time, Moody's de Mexico placed Merrill Lynch Mexico, SA de CV, Casa de Bolsa's (MLM) long- and short-term Mexican national scale issuer ratings of Aa3.mx and MX-2 on review for upgrade.

Moody's said the actions follow a similar action taken on parent Bank of America, NA, whose standalone bank financial strength rating of D+ was placed on review for upgrade.
