Fitch ups Bank Internasional Indonesia view to positive

Fitch Ratings said it revised the outlook on PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk.'s national rating to positive from stable. The agency also said it affirmed its national rating at AA-(idn), long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at BB with a stable outlook, short-term issuer default rating at B and dollar-denominated subordinated debt at BB-.

The positive outlook reflects the increasing strategic alignment with its parent, Malayan Banking Bhd., which is rated A- with stable view, Fitch said. That should bring benefits to its financial and market positions, the agency said.

The bank's financial position has also improved in the nine months that ended in September, albeit from still weak levels, Fitch said.
