Fitch observes CCC nations

Fitch Ratings said it placed several CCC rated nations under criteria observation following the finalization of its exposure draft for its sovereign rating criteria.

“The UCO indicates that ratings may change as a direct result of the final criteria. It does not indicate a change in the underlying credit profile, nor does it affect existing outlooks,” the agency said in a press release.

The countries under UCO are Ethiopia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Zambia.

Fitch said it expects to resolve the UCO status within six months.
