Zafgen announces that it plans to price initial public stock offering

Leerink and Cowen are bookrunners; Canaccord Genuity, JMP to assist

Knoxville, Tenn., April 21 - Zafgen, Inc. will conduct an initial public offering of its common stock with a greenshoe, according to a Form S-1 filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Leerink Partners and Cowen and Co. are the joint bookrunning managers. Canaccord Genuity and JMP Securities are the co-managers.

Proceeds will be used for studies and clinical development, clinical trials, research and development, working capital and other general corporate purposes.

The biopharmaceutical company is based in Cambridge, Mass. The company intends to list its common stock on the Nasdaq under the symbol "ZFGN."
