S&P affirms Zacatecas

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its A(mx) national-scale rating on the State of Zacatecas, United Mexican States.

The outlook remains stable.

S&P said the rating reflects strengths that include adequate financial performance, with an overall surplus during the past year and historically low debt levels.

Factors that somewhat offset these strengths include a still weak economy, though there are positive growth prospects and limited financial flexibility, which is common under the Mexican System of Fiscal Coordination, the agency noted.
