Young Broadcasting records $3.89 million March net operating income

Pittsburgh, April 30 - Young Broadcasting Inc. reported a $3.89 million net operating income for March on $15.89 million in total operating revenues, according to a monthly operating report filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures compared to an $884,602 net operating profit posted for the period of Feb. 13 to Feb. 28 on $7.09 million in total operating revenues.

The net loss for March was $1.38 million, narrowing from a $2.22 million net loss for the February period.

The company had $26.73 million in cash at March 31, compared with $21.65 million at the end of February.

New York-based Young Broadcasting owns 10 television stations and the national representation firm Adam Young Inc. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 13 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10645.
