New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $3.61 million notes linked to dollar versus euro, yen

Tacoma, Wash., June 22 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $3.61 million of 0% currency-linked notes due June 27, 2011 linked to a basket holding equal weights of the dollar/euro and dollar/Japanese yen exchange rates, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket return will be positive if there is a net appreciation in the value of the dollar against the basket currencies. A negative basket return will reflect a net depreciation of the dollar.

If the basket return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.4 times the gain, subject to a maximum return of 14%.

If the basket return is zero or negative, investors will receive par plus the basket return.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
