Yankee Candle to redeem 10¼%/11% notes due 2016, 9¾% notes due 2017

By Tali David

Minneapolis, Sept. 3 - Yankee Candle Co., Inc. delivered redemption notices for its $315 million of 10¼%/11% senior notes due 2016 of the company and Yankee Finance, Inc. and $188 million of Yankee Candle's 9¾% senior subordinated notes due 2017, according to an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The redemptions are conditioned on the closing of Jarden Corp.'s purchase of Yankee Candle Investments LLC.

If all the notes are not redeemed on the closing date of the transaction, Jarden has agreed to satisfy and discharge the notes.

Yankee Candle is a South Deerfield, Mass.-based designer, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of scented candles.
