Yamana Gold redeems C$181.5 million 6.97% notes due 2019 at 108.12

By Susanna Moon

Chicago, Feb. 16 – Yamana Gold Inc. said it redeemed C$181.5 million of its 6.97% senior notes due December 2019 on Jan. 29 at a price of 108.12.

Yamana refinanced the debt using proceeds of C$300 million of 4.625% senior notes due December 2027 issued in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to the company’s earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec. 31.

“These items have extended the tenor of the company’s fixed term debt profile at lower average interest rates and improved financial flexibility,” the release noted.

Yamana Gold is a Toronto-based gold producer.
