WorldSpace unsecured creditors committee appointed

Pittsburgh, Oct. 30 - WorldSpace, Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors was appointed Wednesday by the Region 3 U.S. Trustee, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The committee is comprised of Daniel James Michael of Delphi Delco Electronics Europe GmbH, Germany; John Simmons of Performing Rights Society Ltd., London; Alfred Berner of Micronas GmbH, Freiburg, Germany, Nicholas Motsatse of SAMRO, Johannesburg, South Africa; and Josh Protass of Flextronics International Asia Pacific, Ltd., Broomfield, Colo.

WorldSpace, based in Silver Spring, Md., has established an operational satellite-based digital radio system, commonly known as Digital Audio Radio Service, and is a licensed DARS provider. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 17, and its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12412.
