MCI extends expiration date for election forms to Jan. 28

New York, Jan. 23 - MCI, formerly WorldCom Inc., said it is again extending the expiration date for election forms for holders of claims in classes 5, 11 and 13.

The new expiration date is Jan. 28 instead of Jan. 26 previously.

The forms enable the holders to choose to receive notes and/or common stock of the telecommunications company when it emerges from bankruptcy.

MCI, based in Ashburn, Va., filed for bankruptcy in July 2002.
