Banco Santander to change symbols for six series of preferreds June 14

San Diego, June 4 - Banco Santander SA will change the New York Stock Exchange ticker symbols for six series of preferred stock issued by Santander Finance Preferred, SA Unipersonal, according to a company press release.

The following changes will become effective on June 14:

• 6.8% noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 4, will change to "SANPRA" from "STDPRA";

• Floating-rate noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 6, will change to "SANPRB" from "STDPRB";

• 6.5% noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 5, will change to "SANPRC" from "STDPRC";

• 10.5% noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 10, will change to "SANPRE" from "STDPRE";

• Fixed-to-floating noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 11, will change to "SANPRF" from "STDPRF"; and

• 6.41% noncumulative guaranteed preferred stock, series 1, will change to "SANPRI" from "STDPRI."

The bank also changed the symbol of its American Depositary Shares to "SAN" from "STD."

According to the press release, the ticker symbol changes will align the use of ticker symbols within the Santander Group.
