S&P rates Wisconsin G.O. bonds A+

Standard & Poor's assigned an A+ rating on Wisconsin's $210 million general fund annual appropriation refunding bonds, series 2008C.

The outlook is stable.

Proceeds will be used to refund the remaining two outstanding subseries of series 2003B auction-rate bonds that, together with the series 2003A fixed-rate bonds, paid in full the state's unfunded actuarially accrued liability for pensions and most of its unfunded liability for sick leave conversion credits.
