Windstream to seek amendments to permit stimulus grant agreements

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, Sept. 7 - Windstream Corp. announced that it is seeking to amend some provisions of its senior secured credit facilities.

According to a news release, the amendment is required to permit the signing of rural broadband stimulus grant agreements with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service.

The company said it is also, among other things, looking to increase its secured leverage capacity.

J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. is the lead arranger.

Windstream is a Little Rock, Ark.-based provider of phone, high-speed internet and high-definition digital TV services.
