Fitch affirms Wielkopolska region

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed the Polish Region of Wielkopolska's national long-term rating at AA(pol) with a stable outlook.

Fitch said the rating reflects the Wielkopolska's sound budgetary performance, positive impact of the new financial system on its budget, and low debt.

It also takes into account the region's higher sensitivity to economic cycles and uncertainties connected with "pre-financing loans" used for EU-approved investment projects. The region may have to service these loans if the projects are not implemented according to the Union's conditions and consequently denied of EU funding.
