City of Wichita, Kan., calls G.O. renewal, improvement notes due 2009

New York, July 16 - The City of Wichita, Kansas, announced the Aug. 20 redemption of its general obligation renewal and improvement temporary notes, series 226, 229 and 230, due Nov. 19, 2009.

Specifically, the affected notes are the $37,375,000 of 0.8% series 226 notes, the $10,475,000 of 2.35% series 229 notes and the $14.22 million of 0.8% series 230 notes.

The redemption is conditioned on the issue of general obligation notes or bonds prior to Aug. 20.

The city will pay par plus accrued interest.
