Western Asset Emerging Markets Debt alters portfolio management team

San Luis Obispo, Calif., June 12 – Legg Mason Partners Income Trust announced in a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will add Chia-Liang Lian to the portfolio management team of the Western Asset Emerging Markets Debt Fund, effective June 30.

Lian will join existing portfolio managers S. Kenneth Leech, Keith J. Gardner, Gordon S. Brown and Robert O. Abad.

According to the filing, it is expected that Gardner will step down as a member of the fund’s portfolio management team on April 30, 2015, and Lian will become the head of Emerging Markets Debt at that time.

Baltimore-based Legg Mason Partners Fund Advisor, LLC is the investment adviser to the fund.
