Moody's views Panamanian banks negatively

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook on Banco General, SA and Banco Nacional de Panama (Banconal) to negative, from stable and at the same time affirmed all ratings and assessments assigned to these banks, including their Baa2 foreign-currency senior unsecured debt ratings Banco General's foreign-currency junior subordinated debt rating was also affirmed at Ba2(hyb).

The rating action follows a similar action on Panama’s outlook and ratings on Tuesday, Moody’s said.
