Brazil's Banco Mecantil talks dollar-denominated five-year notes at 7¾% area

New York, April 25 - Banco Mercantil do Brasil (B1/B) set price guidance for a dollar-denominated offering of five-year amortizing notes in the area of 7¾%, according to a market source.

The notes will amortize in the third, fourth and fifth years.

Dresdner Kleinwort is the bookrunner for the Regulation S transaction.

Banco Mercantil is a mid-sized bank that focuses on retail banking and lending to small- and medium-sized businesses located in the southeast region of Brazil.
