WebMD to buy 6.35 million shares in tender offer that ended Thursday

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 11 - WebMD Health Corp. said 6,352,896 shares of its common stock, including approximately 1,222,000 shares that were tendered through notice of guaranteed delivery, were tendered in its offer that ended on Thursday.

As previously reported, the company offered to purchase up to 5.7 million shares, or 10%, of its common stock for $37 per share.

WebMD's board of directors authorized the purchase of all the shares that were properly tendered for a total cost of approximately $235.1 million, according to a company news release.

The company exercised its right to purchase up to an additional 2% of its outstanding shares without extending the offer.
