Weatherford International to sell senior notes possibly Wednesday

Omaha, March 18 - Weatherford International Ltd. announced an offering of senior notes (Baa1/BBB+) Tuesday, with pricing expected Wednesday, a source close to the deal said.

Bookrunners are Goldman Sachs & Co., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc.

Co-managers are ABN Amro Securities, J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and Simmons and Co. International.

Proceeds will be used to repay existing short-term debt and for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures and business acquisitions.

The oilfield services equipment company is based in Houston.
