S&P affirms Bladex

S&P said it affirmed its BBB long-term and A-2 short-term global scale issuer credit ratings on Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior SA (Bladex).

The outlook remains stable.

At the same time, the agency affirmed the global-scale BBB and national-scale mxAAA issue-level ratings on the bank.

S&P said the ratings on Bladex reflect its importance as a key player in the trade finance business in the region and its operating revenue stability with a smaller credit portfolio.

The ratings also reflect an expected risk-adjusted capital ratio of 10.9% for 2018-2019, considering a resumption in credit growth, and internal capital generation, accompanied by reasonable quarterly dividend payments, the agency said.
