Moody's upgrades Waste Management

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded the senior debt ratings for Waste Management Inc. and subsidiary Waste Management Holdings, Inc. to Baa2 from Baa3. The outlook is stable.

Moody's anticipates that Waste Management's financial profile will improve further and compare favorably with other industrial companies rated in the Baa rating category. This is based on improving conditions in the waste industry, where Waste Management is the largest among the private providers, and on the expectation for continued capital discipline at Waste Management, the agency said.
