S&P may cut some Waste Management ratings

Standard & Poor's said it placed the long-term AAA and AA+ ratings, along with the A-1+ short-term ratings on certain solid waste revenue bonds guaranteed by Waste Management Inc. on CreditWatch with negative implications.

Waste Management's other ratings, including its BBB corporate credit rating, are not affected.

The watch reflects the upcoming remarketing of the debt, which is set to occur March 1, S&P said.

The agency said it expects to lower the ratings on the bonds to the level of Waste Management's long-term and short-term corporate credit ratings, which are currently BBB and A-2, respectively.
