Washington Mutual creditor committee appeals shareholder claim ruling

Pittsburgh, Oct. 5 - Washington Mutual, Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors appealed an order granting the company's equity committee standing to prosecute an equitable disallowance claim, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
The creditors committee appealed the ruling with the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
Washington Mutual, a Seattle-based savings and loan holding company, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 26, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12229.
