Washington Mutual wants court to OK stipulation with Wilmington Trust

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 23 - Washington Mutual Inc. asked the court to approve a stipulation and agreement with indenture trustee Wilmington Trust Co., according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The parties agree that the guaranteed claims should be in a set amount that is different from the amount that was asserted in Wilmington's proof of claim, the filing said.

The guaranteed claims will be modified, reduced and allowed to an amount totaling $43,443,878.

Washington Mutual, a Seattle-based savings and loan holding company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 26, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12229.
