Washington Mutual reports $3.58 million June net loss; revenues down

Pittsburgh, July 24 - Washington Mutual, Inc. posted a $3.58 million net loss for June on $2.92 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In comparison, the company posted a $5.72 million net loss in May on $3.09 million in revenues.

Cash and cash equivalents at June 30 were $4.609 billion, the same as at the end of May.

In addition, WMI Investment Corp. reported an $856,620 June net profit on $856,620 in revenues.

WMI had $274.43 million in cash and cash equivalents at June 30, compared with $274.21 million at the end of May.

Washington Mutual, a Seattle-based savings and loan holding company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 26, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12229.
