S&P rates Disney notes A

Standard & Poor's said it assigned Walt Disney Co.'s proposed issuance of 10-year senior notes an A rating.

The company plans to use the proceeds of the notes issue for general corporate purposes.

The impact of this issuance on Disney's leverage metrics will be minimal, and the company's fully adjusted debt-to-EBITDA ratio will remain below 2.0 times, the agency said.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings on Disney reflect the company's strong business risk profile, characterized by its premier creative franchises and extensive media distribution and its modest financial risk profile, the agency said.
