Wachovia to sell enhanced growth securities linked to Amex Gold BUGS

New York, July 3 - Wachovia Corp. plans to offer 0% notes due Feb. 10, 2009 in the enhanced growth securities structure linked to the Amex Gold BUGS index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

At maturity, the notes will pay par plus triple the percentage increase of the index, capped at a payment expected to be between $12.50 and $12.75 per $10.00 security. Holders will participate fully in any decline.

Wachovia Securities will be the underwriter.
