New Issue: Wachovia prices $16 million principal-protected notes linked to emerging market currencies

Des Moines, June 4 - Wachovia Corp. priced a $16 million issue of 0% principal-protected notes due June 5, 2008 linked to a basket of emerging market currencies, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The underlying basket includes equal weights of the Brazilian real, the Mexican peso, the Turkish lira, the Hungarian forint, the Indonesian rupiah and the Indian rupee, all relative to the dollar.

At maturity, investors will receive the greater of par or 160% of the basket performance. Investors will receive at least par.

Wachovia Securities is the underwriter.
