Moody’s alters Volkswagen view to stable

Moody’s Investors Service said it revised the outlook for Volkswagen AG to stable from negative and affirmed all ratings, including its long-term issuer rating of A3 and short-term prime-2 commercial paper rating.

“The change in outlook reflects the continued recovery in global light vehicle sales, the expectation that Volkswagen will be able to further improve its credit metrics in 2021-22 and the company's ability to reduce CO2 emissions to levels very close to the stricter targets in 2021,” said Matthias Heck, Moody's vice president, senior credit officer and lead analyst for Daimler, in a news release.
