Newfleet adds Kelleher as managing director, senior portfolio manager

Minneapolis, Jan. 25 - Newfleet Asset Management announced that Christopher J. Kelleher has joined the company as managing director and senior portfolio manager, according to a press release.

Kelleher joins Newfleet's multi-sector fixed-income strategies team, where he will co-manage fixed-income assets in the Virtus Total Return Fund, the Virtus Tactical Allocation Fund and other portfolios.

Prior to Newfleet, Kelleher was employed by Virtus, which he joined in June 2011 as part of the portfolio management team that managed Newfleet multi-sector portfolios. Before that, he was a senior managing director and senior portfolio manager at Goodwin Capital Advisers. He began his career at Phoenix Cos. in investment accounting and later had responsibility for portfolio analysis and trading of mortgage-backed securities and corporate, high-yield and private placement bonds.

Hartford, Conn.-based Virtus Investment Advisers, Inc., the investment adviser to the funds and all Virtus mutual funds, is a subsidiary of Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. Newfleet is one of the boutique asset managers that comprise Virtus Investment Partners.
