Virgin Mobile in early discussions with SK Telecom

Charlotte, N.C., May 14 - Virgin Mobile USA, Inc. confirmed it is in discussions with SK Telecom Co. Ltd. regarding potential strategic opportunities, it was announced on Wednesday.

There can be no assurance that the discussions will result in a transaction, a Virgin Mobile news release said.

Virgin Mobile, a Warren, N.J., wireless communications services provider, will not comment further unless a definitive agreement is reached.

SK Telecom is wireless telecommunications service provider based in Seoul, South Korea.
