Vinson & Elkins adds Hughes to leveraged finance practice in London

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 10 – Vinson & Elkins LLP added capital markets partner Noel Hughes to its global leveraged finance practice, enhancing the firm's capabilities in cross-border leveraged finance and high-yield debt offerings, according to a press release.

Hughes, previously with Sidley Austin, will work in Vinson & Elkins’ London office.

His practice focuses on international capital markets and cross-border leveraged finance transactions, with a particular focus on high-yield bond financings.

Hughes advises issuer and underwriter clients, as well as alternative capital investors on a broad range of transactions, including high-yield debt offerings, debt liability management transactions and U.S. securities law matters.

While it is expected that Hughes will concentrate on transactions sourced from the London office, it is also anticipated that he will support the continuing growth of the firm's high-yield offerings practice in the United States, the firm said.

“We are excited to welcome Noel to the firm,” chairman Mark Kelly said in the release.

“He will bring significant experience and knowledge to our clients across the globe as we continue to strengthen our global leveraged finance practice.”

The law firm is based in Houston.
