Victory Memorial plan confirmation hearing continued to Sept. 9

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., Aug. 14 - Victory Memorial Hospital's plan of reorganization confirmation hearing was adjourned to Sept. 9, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.

The hearing was previously scheduled to begin Thursday.

As previously reported, Victory Memorial's U.S. Trustee objected to the company's plan of reorganization on Aug. 7, claiming it should be denied because the company will be unable to pay administrative and priority claims on the effective date.

Victory Memorial, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based hospital, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 15, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-44387.
