Victory Memorial Hospital debtors ask court to dismiss bankruptcy cases

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 4 - Victory Memorial Hospital debtors Victory Ambulance Services, Inc. and Victory Memorial Pharmacy, Inc. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York to dismiss their Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases because they have no assets and are unable to confirm a plan of reorganization, according to Wednesday court filings.

According to the motions, Victory Ambulance and Victory Pharmacy have no assets and no debts, and therefore they cannot propose a plan that will be confirmed.

In addition, the debtors said they do not have any bona fide creditors or parties in interests that would be harmed by dismissal of their cases.

Victory Memorial, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based hospital, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 15, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-44387.
