Vertis requests three-month exclusivity extension to aid wind-down

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 5 - Vertis Holdings, Inc. requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period through Feb. 3 from Nov. 4 and the solicitation period through April 7 from Jan. 6.

Vertis said the proposed extension would allow it to continue to resolve the remaining issues pending in its bankruptcy case and move forward with the most efficient and cost-effective wind-down of its estates.

In addition, the company said maintaining order in its case will serve to avoid disruption to its remaining operations.

A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11.

Vertis, a Baltimore-based marketing communications company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 10, 2012. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-12821.
