By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 7 – Verizon Communications Inc. repurchased its outstanding $2.5 billion of floating-rate notes due 2022 on Wednesday, according to a 6-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes were redeemed at par plus accrued interest to, but excluding the repurchase date.

The notes were issued Feb. 21, 2014 by Verizon to an indirect subsidiary of Vodafone Group plc in connection with Verizon’s acquisition of Vodafone’s indirect interest in the Verizon Wireless business.

Verizon is a New York City-based telecommunications company.
