Verizon to redeem notes due 2015 to 2018 via new offering proceeds

Norfolk, Va., Oct. 22 – Verizon Communications Inc. plans to use the proceeds from new notes offerings to redeem certain of its existing notes with maturity dates from 2015 to 2018, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The redemptions are expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2014.

Remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The telecommunications company is based in New York.
