Mexico maintains overnight interest rate at 4½%; CPI down in January

Chicago, March 4 - The Board of Governors of the Banco de Mexico left is overnight interest rate at 4½% at its meeting on Friday, according to a news release issued by the bank.

The bank has kept the rate steady since July 2009.

The Consumer Price Index was 3.78% in January. Headline inflation in Mexico stood at 4.4% in December 2010.
