VeraSun operating loss declines to $532,000 in July on zero sales

Pittsburgh, Aug. 31 - VeraSun Energy Corp. reported a $532,000 operating loss for July on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In June, the company posted a $447,000 operating loss, also on zero net sales.

The net loss for July was $498,000, declining from $738,000 of net income reported in June.

The company had $39.28 million in cash and cash equivalents at July 31, up from $37.67 million at the end of June.

VeraSun, based in Brookings, S.D., produces renewable fuel. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 31, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12606.
