Venus Beauty Supply acquires FermaVir, approves stock split, name change

New York, Aug. 18 - Venus Beauty Supply, Inc. announced the completed acquisition of FermaVir Research, Inc., a stock redemption and the closing of a related private placement.

The company also approved a 38.25-for-1 stock split and name change to FermaVir Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which will become effective on Aug. 22.

Details were not available at press time on Thursday.

FermaVir is a development-stage biotechnology company. It licensed patents on compounds for viral diseases from Cardiff University in Cardiff, U.K.

FermaVir has a candidate for the treatment of shingles in pre-clinical studies.
