S&P: Four Argentine banks view to negative

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on the global scale ratings on Banco Hipotecario SA, Banco Patagonia SA, Banco Galicia y Buenos Aires SA and Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires to negative from stable.

S&P also said it affirmed the B global scale issuer credit ratings on the banks.

The outlook revision follows a similar rating action on the Republic of Argentina, the agency said.

The outlook revision on the sovereign stems from policies enacted since the October 2011 presidential elections that could increase the risk of deterioration in the country's macroeconomic framework, put pressure on its external liquidity position and lower its medium-term growth prospects, S&P said.

As a result, these trends could harm the credit fundamentals of these four banks, the agency said.

S&P said it will continue to monitor Argentine banks' financial condition closely.
