VarTec Telecom posts $1.08 million January net profit

Pittsburgh, Feb. 24 - VarTec Telecom, Inc. reported a $1.08 million net profit for January on revenues of $30.47 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

In December, the company posted a $977,607 net profit on revenues of $33.84 million.

Total cash on Jan. 31 was $41.87 million, up from $35.13 million at the end of December.

VarTec, a Dallas-based telecommunications provider, filed for bankruptcy Nov. 1, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-81694.
